The United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) Human Development Report (HDR) is probably the most widely read document published by the UN every year. But the reports are not widely read by young people, which is why the UN is inviting young people to make a short, colourful summary of it. The process is the same as before. If you did not take part last year, what we do is to create a task force of individual young people, school groups, etc. and get them to bring to life the key messages of the HDR with opinion pieces, reports, poems and stories, paintings, cartoons and photographs - so that everyone can understand these messages. The result is a beautiful, fascinating book entirely written and illustrated, designed and edited by young people. You can view the one we did last year here the design and editing is done by the young international interns here at the world-famous Peace Child International centre, near Cambridge, UK.

Contributors can watch the book come together, page by page, online. Also, you can suggest a different story, another photograph, painting or design element, just as if you were sitting at the Editorial Meeting table.

This year, the UNDP has asked us to go further and invite young people to create 30 to 90 second videos on how climate change affects you and what you feel should be done about it. There are three ways you can contribute:

1) If you have a camera and the necessary editing equipment, you can go ahead and make your video. They can be short, dramatic pieces, scripted and acted out by you and your friends; or a documentary cut together to make an impactive statement about what you feel to be a key aspect of climate change. Or a mix of the two. The finished videos should be uploaded to our YouTube Group

2) If you have a camera, but no editing equipment, you can send us a tape, along with a script of how you would like it to be edited, and we will edit it here – IF we feel the material and idea is of sufficient quality.

3) If you have no camera but a great idea, write a script: we – and the UNDP – will review all of them and select the best 4-5 scripts, arrange production details – and edit the tape into a finished movie.

You will be able to view all the videos on the YouTube group - and choose your favourites. The best 15-20 videos submitted will be edited into a single 30-minute show introduced by a celebrity host. It will be distributed by the UN to broadcasters around the world in time for International Youth Day – August 12^th 2008. For questions on the video project please email Adam

What are the Key Messages this HDR delivers about Climate Change?

• Climate Change - its effect on People: We've had the UN scientists' report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC); we've had the report on its economic impact in the Stern Report. This Human Development Report is about people and how we are all affected by climate change.

• The poor suffer most from Climate Change - and will suffer more: Given that 2.6 billion live in poverty, unable to meet their basic needs, these people are likely to be the first to face the impacts of dangerous climate change and suffer human development reversals. The Report tells that the poor are already suffering, and will suffer more, as a result of climate change. But we will all suffer later. In fact, some rich countries are already seeing the impacts of climate change and are dealing with its consequences. If we do not avoid dangerous climate change, the consequences will be more severe and widespread.

• Urgency: The Report argues that climate change needs urgent action: today we are living with what we did yesterday; tomorrow we will all live with what we do today. We need to take action now.

• Climate change - a serious threat to our ability to meet the MDGs: - we depend on our world’s eco- systems for water, for agriculture, for our industries, our livelihoods and many other aspects of our life - climate change poses a serious threat to our ability to meet the eight Millennium Development Goals especially as it is the poor who are already seeing its impacts.

• Climate change - an immense threat to Human Rights: The UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights talks of the inalienable rights of the human family to “freedom, justice and peace”. Climate change is an immense threat to those rights. Yet it is also a reminder that we are a single, interdependent human family sharing a common home on Planet Earth. The UN has a key role in the discussion, and the action, on climate change to protect human rights.

• Both Mitigation and Adaptation needed: Mitigation means taking action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to avoid more climate change. It is about transforming the way that countries produce and use energy and changing industry and activities to reduce or eliminate emissions. Adaptation is the way people respond to new or changed conditions in climate, such as more droughts, flooding or severe storms. It means adapting our current and future lifestyles, towns, cities, infrastructure - everything! - to take account of climate change. The report states that both actions need to be taken to fight climate change and the threats it poses to humanity.

• UN is well-placed to give Leadership: Climate change is exactly the kind of global challenge that the UN was set up to address. The Secretary-General has made it his personal priority to work with Member States to ensure that the United Nations takes effective leadership in the fight against climate change.

Almost every government now puts climate change high up their national agenda. We know it is important - and could actually have catastrophic consequences in many regions of this planet. Yet, to date, our behaviour has changed very little: we drive our cars as much if not more; we are taking more holidays in more further-away places than ever. And our schools are still more likely to teach us about ancient history than the near-future when the impact of climate change will irreversibly affect our lives.

The key messages of this HDR represent the world's best thinking about the impact of the climate change crisis on people and what we should all do about it. If you choose to join our Task Force and contribute to this project, we shall send you bi-monthly updates full of ideas and information from the report. For now, here's how you can help:

What we want you to do?

If you want to contribute stories, paintings, poems and reports about climate change, sign up now for the Task force at: publications@peacechild.org. We will give you password restricted access to the editorial process. Contributions can be made in any UN language - English, French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic and Chinese. The booklet will be edited in English, so English submissions are preferred where possible. Videos can be submitted in any language, as long as any dialogue are translated into English. All contributors will get a copy of the finished booklet and a certificate. The best contributors will be invited to be editors and given an all-expenses paid trip to the UK to work with the Peace Child youth team + UNDP officials on editing the final booklet. But hurry! The contribution deadline is May 29^th 2008 and, if you want to be considered as an editor, get your contributions to us by April 26^th 2008.

How exactly should we contribute?

Video Format – The higher the quality, the better: if you submit mobile phone videos, it might make it to the YouTube Group – but is very unlikely to be broadcast. Digital format is, of course, preferred – though we can deal with analogue format if that is all you have. Note that most videos fall down on sound quality - so take steps just to use a music track or sound effects. And make your video as visual as possible.

Booklet Format- Here, as last year, is an outline of what we have in mind, and what we need from you:

ILLUSTRATED FRONT COVER This is a challenge for a great young artist or illustrator: we are looking for a really striking image that reflects the issues outlined above; allow your imagination to run wild and create an image that will make our entire global family understand why young people are concerned about climate change. The person whose painting/cartoon is chosen for the front cover is automatically invited to the editorial meeting. - Forewords: One by a UN Official - probably the UN Secretary General this time; the other by the young editors

- What is Human Development? - An Introduction to Human Development and the history of these brilliant UN reports.

- What is Climate Change? - the background, the history, and why it is so important. This is a great opportunity for creative writing and images: if you suffer the consequences of climate change - think of creative ways to communicate your situation: you know - first-hand - why climate change is such an important issue: scream your concern through a story, or a painting, or a powerful photograph! If you are interested, look back in your history - find out when Climate Change first became an issue for people in your country. Identify those politicians, those scientists, celebrities and, if possible, young people - who first drew attention to it. Tell us their stories (with a photograph of them if possible)

- The impact of climate change on people: - why is it that the poor have contributed least, yet are already the ones suffering most - and will suffer more - from Climate Change: this is perhaps the most important message coming out of the UNDP's report - and we must communicate it powerfully and vividly. Consider the recent cyclone in Bangladesh: imagine the pain of a resident of a Pacific Island as s/he prepares to leave their home because the sea-level is making their island disappear beneath the waves. This is another great opportunity for creative writing - poems, stories, diary entries from a future date, letters dated 2050 to your grand-children - along with powerful paintings and drawings.

- How Climate Change impacts all the other UN Agendas: these pages will explain the UN's Millennium Development Goals to halve the numbers of people living in extreme poverty by 2015 etc. Climate change can stop that happening: floods, hurricanes, droughts, sea-level rise and heat-waves will wipe out farming communities, wreck our cities, destroy crops and animals and create environmental refugees. Imagine that - research the impact, and write stories and poems, paint paintings to communicate those human development setbacks. Here we are, happily getting richer, better fed, with healthcare services and schools at last - then suddenly, climate change comes along and all our hard-earned gains are lost in a night of flooding. It can happen here in Europe - and in North America as we saw with Hurricane Katrina.

- Solutions (1) Mitigation: it's a big word - not much used by young people. So - explain it to yourself and to your friends! It means taking action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to avoid more climate change, such as building renewable energy grids - de-carbonising our communities. Again, not rocket science: investing in electric solutions - where the electricity is generated by wind, solar, hydro power, not coal-fired power stations; not traveling so much - tele-commuting; taking holidays nearer to home; personal carbon or air-travel quotas; turning off the lights and applicances that are not being used; these are all part mitigation strategies. Research the issues: explain what you want your government - and the UN - to do now to reduce (mitigate) the effects of climate change!

- Solutions (2) Adaptation: Another big word - it means adapting our current and future lifestyles, towns, cities, infrastructure - everything! - to take account of climate change. It's all pretty obvious stuff - building sea walls to protect coastal regions from rising sea-levels, adapting agricultural practices to changing weather patterns, and assisting those who are already affected by climate change by increasing their resources. There are hundreds of practical solutions we can summarise and simplify here. Along with your photographs, paintings, poems and stories!

- A global problem needing global solutions: the UN has been waiting for an issue like this to come along to show just why it is so badly needed in our world. It has already shown its leadership by negotiating the Montreal Protocol on Ozone depletion in the atmosphere, and the 1st Kyoto Protocol. These pages will look at the role the UN can - and should - play: the HDR has plenty of ideas, and UN-insiders have their thoughts. But they want yours: what ideas do you recommend to be undertaken by an international body and its member states to solve the problems related to climate change? What are your thoughts on this? Tell us - and we will print them!

- Solutions (3) - there are so many other things going on that offer solutions to the climate change crisis. We want to use these pages to explain some of them in more detail. So tell us what you think will work: we know there is no silver bullet - no one-shot solution that will solve all the problems, but what are, in your view, the most-important ones. Explain them to us, and tell us why you think it is the most important action we should be taking.

- A World Beyond Climate Change: what will this look like?? Don’t give us the familiar hi-tech, space-age vision of cities of gleaming glass and stainless steel. Give us new visions of a future with more green space - more trees, more energy-efficient houses, cleaner, fuel-efficient transportation! Use your imagination here: think forward to when you are an older, retired person: what kind of world do you think you will look out on to? We are looking for several visions here: some will be depressing - some more positive. Just no clichés please.

- Take action NOW!!! - If you don't know already, find out why climate change is such a priority to take action upon right now. It will affect all of us - from the multi-billionaires to the poorest of the poor: no one is excluded. So we must all be involved. Find stories which you think illustrate, powerfully, the urgency of this crisis. Take photographs - or create paintings, cartoons (we love cartoons!) - write poems from the bottom of your heart! - again, express as powerfully as you are able, the need to take action to address climate change now - as it is the current young generation, and their children, who will suffer most from the consequences.

- What young people are doing: we need inspirational stories of what young people are doing in your area to combat climate change. We know that a ton of stuff is happening in most countries of the world - and we want to be sure we have the most up-to-date, most incredible, most powerful stories about the impact that the effort and imagination of young people is making on this critical world issue. But, of course, it is not enough!

- What more can young people do? This climate change challenge is the big one in our lives. Our actions to date have barely made a dent in the problem. So get your thinking hats on - and come up with some brilliant ideas for what young people should be doing to address this - the defining challenge of your generation. We want to have a register of ideas that will spark the reader's interest and make them say, “Yes - I could do that!” Young people can do amazing things: we know that - and we want your ideas for ending the threat of climate change to shape our leaders' thinking about it right now.

- IILLUSTRATED BACK COVER - Remember the title of the Report - “Fighting climate change: Human Solidarity in a divided world” - We want a full-page illustration for the back cover that in some way suggests this divided world - how the rich are, in the short-term, able to buy their escape from the climate change crisis - but how that option is not available to the poor. Think of a slogan that will capture young people's imaginations - and define the youth role in lifting the threat of catastrophic climate change from our world for ever. We shall publish the best of them in our updates. And the editors will decide. But slogans are great - and quick to write. So give us some! - and then do a master-piece painting to illustrate it.

Le Programme des Nations Unies pour le développement (LE PNUD) Rapport humain de développement (HDR) est probablement le document le plus largement lu édité par l'ONU chaque année. Que les messages principaux sont-ils ces HDR livre-t-ils au sujet du changement de climat ?

• Changement de climat - son effet sur des personnes: Nous avons eu le rapport des scientifiques de l'ONU du panneau intergouvernemental sur le changement de climat (IPCC) ; nous avons eu le rapport sur son impact économique dans le rapport sévère. Ce rapport humain de développement est au sujet des personnes et comment nous tous sommes affectés par le changement de climat.

• Les pauvres souffrent plus du changement de climat - et souffriront davantage: Étant donné que 2.6 milliards de phase dans la pauvreté, incapable de satisfaire leurs besoins de base, ces personnes sont susceptibles d'être les premiers pour faire face aux impacts du changement dangereux de climat et pour souffrir des inversions humaines de développement. • Changement de climat - une immense menace vers des droits de l'homme: La déclaration universelle de l'ONU des entretiens de droits de l'homme des droites inaliénables de la famille humaine « liberté, juge et paix ». Le changement de climat est une immense menace vers ces droites. Pourtant c'est également un rappel que nous sommes une famille humaine simple et interdépendante partageant une maison commune sur terre de planète. L'ONU a un rôle principal dans la discussion, et l'action, sur le changement de climat pour protéger des droits de l'homme.

• Réduction et adaptation requise: La réduction signifie en agissant pour réduire des émissions de gaz de serre chaude pour éviter plus de climat changez. Il est au sujet de transformer la manière dont les pays produisent et emploient l'énergie et industrie et activités changeantes pour réduire ou éliminer des émissions. L'adaptation est la manière que les gens répondent à nouveau ou les conditions changées dans le climat, tel que plus de sécheresses, d'inondation ou de grave donne l'assaut à. Combien exactement devrions-nous contribuer ?

Format visuel - Plus la qualité est haute, le meilleur : si vous soumettez des videos de téléphone portable, il pourrait le faire au Groupe de YouTube - mais il est très peu susceptible être émission. Le format de Digital est naturellement préféré - bien que nous puissions traiter le format analogue si c'est tout que vous avez. Notez que la plupart des videos tombent vers le bas sur la qualité de son - ainsi prenez les mesures juste pour employer une voie de musique ou des effets sains. Et faites votre visuel de vidéo aussi comme possible.

Livret Format- Ici, comme année dernière, est un contour de de ce que nous avons à l'esprit, et de de ce que nous avons besoin de toi :

ILLUSTRÉ AVANT COUVERTURE C'est un défi pour un grand jeune artiste ou illustrateur : nous recherchons une image vraiment de frappement qui reflète les questions décrites ci-dessus ; permettez à votre imagination de courir sauvage et de créer une image qui incitera notre famille globale entière à comprendre pourquoi des jeunes sont préoccupés par le changement de climat. Si vous êtes intéressé, regard en arrière dans votre histoire - découvrez quand le changement de climat est devenu la première fois une question pour des personnes dans votre pays. Identifiez ces politiciens, ces scientifiques, célébrités et, si possible, jeunes - qui a appelé la première fois l'attention sur lui. Dites-nous leurs histoires (avec une photographie de elles si possible)

- L'impact du changement de climat sur des personnes : - pourquoi est il que les pauvres ont contribué mineurs, pourtant sont déjà ceux qui souffrent plus - et souffrira davantage - du changement de climat : c'est peut-être le message le plus important sortant du rapport du PNUD - et nous devons le communiquer puissant et vividly. Considérez le cyclone récent au Bangladesh : imaginez que la douleur d'un résidant d'une île Pacifique pendant que s/he prépare pour partir de leur maison parce que le niveau de la mer fait leur île disparaissez sous les vagues. C'est une autre grande occasion pour l'écriture créatrice - poésies, les histoires, entrées de journal intime d'une future date, lettres datées 2050 à vos enfants - avec les peintures et les schémas puissants.

- Comment le changement de climat effectue tous autres ordres du jour de l'ONU : ces pages expliqueront les buts de développement du millénium de l'ONU divisent en deux les nombres de personnes vivant dans la pauvreté extrême à côté 2015 etc. Le changement de climat peut arrêter cela qui se produit : les inondations, les ouragans, les sécheresses, l'élévation de niveau de la mer et les vagues de chaleur élimineront les communautés d'exploitation agricole, détruiront nos villes, détruiront des récoltes et des animaux et créeront les réfugiés environnementaux. Imaginez que - recherchez l'impact, et écrivez les histoires et les poésies, peignent des peintures pour communiquer ces reculs humains de développement. Nous voici, heureusement obtenant un Fédéral plus riche et meilleur, avec des services de soins de santé et des écoles enfin - puis soudainement, le changement de climat vient le long et tous nos gains dur-gagnés sont perdus dans une nuit d'inondation. Il peut se produire ici en Europe - et en Amérique du Nord comme nous avons vu avec l'ouragan Katrina.

- Réduction des solutions (1) : c'est un grand mot - pas beaucoup employé par les jeunes. Ainsi - expliquez-le à vous-même et à vos amis ! Il signifie agir pour réduire des émissions de gaz de serre chaude pour éviter plus de changement de climat, comme des grilles d'énergie renouvelable de bâtiment - décarbonisation de nos communautés. Encore, pas la science de fusée : investissant dans les solutions électriques - où l'électricité est produite par le vent, énergie solaire et hydraulique, centrales électriques non à charbon ; ne voyageant pas tellement - télétravail ; plus presque prenant des vacances à la maison ; le carbone personnel ou air-voyagent des quotes-parts ; rotation outre des lumières et applicances qui ne sont pas employés ; ce sont toutes les stratégies de réduction de partie. Recherchez les questions : expliquez ce que vous voulez que votre gouvernement - et l'ONU - fasse maintenant pour réduire (atténuer) les effets du climat changez !

• Cambiamento di clima - una minaccia immensa contro i diritti dell'uomo: La dichiarazione universale di NU dei colloqui di diritti dell'uomo dei diritti inalienabili della famiglia umana “libertà, giustizia e pace„. Il cambiamento di clima è una minaccia immensa a quei diritti. Tuttavia è inoltre un ricordo che siamo una singola, famiglia umana interdipendente che ripartisce una sede comune sulla terra del pianeta. Il NU ha un ruolo chiave nella discussione e l'azione, sul cambiamento di clima per proteggere i diritti dell'uomo.

• Sia il Mitigation che l'adattamento hanno avuto bisogno di: Il Mitigation significa agendo per ridurre le emissioni di gas della serra per evitare più clima cambi. - 1) Mitigation delle soluzioni (: è una parola grande - non molto usata dai giovani. Così - spieghilo a lei ed ai vostri amici! Significa agire per ridurre le emissioni di gas della serra per evitare più cambiamento di clima, quali le griglie di energia rinnovabile della costruzione - decarburare le nostre Comunità. Di nuovo, non scienza del razzo: investendo nelle soluzioni elettriche - dove l'elettricità è generata da vento, alimentazione solare e idro, centrali elettriche non a carbone; non viaggiando così tanto - commutazione a distanza; occorrendo le feste più vicino alla sede; il carbonio personale o aria-viaggia quote; girando fuori delle luci e applicances che non stanno usandi; queste sono tutte le strategie di mitigation della parte. Ricerchi le edizioni: spieghi che cosa desiderate il vostro governo - ed il NU - ora fare per ridurre (attenuarsi) gli effetti del clima cambiate!

- Soluzioni (2) Adattamento: Un'altra parola grande - significa adattare i nostri attuali e lifestyles futuro, le città, le città, l'infrastruttura - tutto! - per tenere conto del cambiamento di clima. - Soluzioni (3) - ci sono tante altre cose che vanno sulle soluzioni di quell'offerta alla crisi del cambiamento di clima. Desideriamo usare queste pagine per spiegare loro più dettagliatamente alcune. Così dicaci che che cosa pensate funzionerà: sappiamo che non ci è pallottola d'argento - nessuna soluzione unica che risolverà tutti i problemi, ma che cosa sono, nel vostro punto di vista, quei più-importanti. Spieghili a noi e dicaci perchè pensate che sia l'azione più importante dovremmo prendere.

- Un mondo oltre il cambiamento di clima: che cosa questo sguardo gradirà?? Ci non dia la visione esperta di spazio-età e alta tecnologia delle città di acciaio inossidabile di vetro e brillante. Give us new visions of a future with more green space - more trees, more energy-efficient houses, cleaner, fuel-efficient transportation! Use your imagination here: think forward to when you are an older, retired person: what kind of world do you think you will look out on to? We are looking for several visions here: some will be depressing - some more positive. Just no clichés please.

- Take action NOW!!! - If you don't know already, find out why climate change is such a priority to take action upon right now. It will affect all of us - from the multi-billionaires to the poorest of the poor: no one is excluded. So we must all be involved. Find stories which you think illustrate, powerfully, the urgency of this crisis. Take photographs - or create paintings, cartoons (we love cartoons!) - write poems from the bottom of your heart! - again, express as powerfully as you are able, the need to take action to address climate change now - as it is the current young generation, and their children, who will suffer most from the consequences.

- What young people are doing: we need inspirational stories of what young people are doing in your area to combat climate change. We know that a ton of stuff is happening in most countries of the world - and we want to be sure we have the most up-to-date, most incredible, most powerful stories about the impact that the effort and imagination of young people is making on this critical world issue. But, of course, it is not enough!

- What more can young people do? This climate change challenge is the big one in our lives. Our actions to date have barely made a dent in the problem. So get your thinking hats on - and come up with some brilliant ideas for what young people should be doing to address this - the defining challenge of your generation. We want to have a register of ideas that will spark the reader's interest and make them say, “Yes - I could do that!” Young people can do amazing things: we know that - and we want your ideas for ending the threat of climate change to shape our leaders' thinking about it right now.

- IILLUSTRATED BACK COVER - Remember the title of the Report - “Fighting climate change: Human Solidarity in a divided world” - We want a full-page illustration for the back cover that in some way suggests this divided world - how the rich are, in the short-term, able to buy their escape from the climate change crisis - but how that option is not available to the poor. Think of a slogan that will capture young people's imaginations - and define the youth role in lifting the threat of catastrophic climate change from our world for ever. We shall publish the best of them in our updates. And the editors will decide. But slogans are great - and quick to write. So give us some! - and then do a master-piece painting to illustrate it.

Dieses Jahr, hat der UNDP uns gebeten, weiter zu gehen und junge Leute einzuladen, zu verursachen 30 bis 90 zweite videos
auf, wie Klimaänderung Sie beeinflußt und was Sie glauben, über es getan werden sollten. Es gibt drei Möglichkeiten, die Sie beitragen können:

1) Wenn Sie eine Kamera und die notwendige redigierende Ausrüstung haben, können Sie voran gehen und Ihren Bildschirm bilden. Sie können kurze, drastische Stücke sein, scripted und verfuhren heraus nach Ihnen und Ihren Freunden; oder ein dokumentarischer Schnitt zusammen, zum abzugeben einer impactive Aussage über, was Sie glauben, um ein Schlüsselaspekt der Klimaänderung zu sein. Was sind die Schlüsselanzeigen diese HDR liefert über Klima-änderung?

• Klima-änderung - sein Effekt auf Leute: Wir haben den Report der UNO Wissenschaftler von der zwischenstaatlichen Verkleidung auf Klima-änderung (IPCC) gehabt; wir haben den Bericht über seine ökonomische Auswirkung im Stern Report gehabt. Dieser menschliche Entwicklung Report ist über Leute und wie alle wir durch Klimaänderung beeinflußt werden.

• Die Armen leiden am meisten unter Klima-änderung - und werden mehr leiden: Angenommen, 2.6 Milliarde Phasen in der Armut, nicht imstande, ihre grundlegenden Bedürfnisse zu erfüllen, diese Leute wahrscheinlich sind, die ersten zu sein, zum der Auswirkungen der gefährlichen Klimaänderung gegenüberzustellen und der menschlichen Entwicklung Umlenkungen zu erleiden. Der Report erklärt, daß die Armen bereits leiden, und wird mehr, resultierend aus Klimaänderung leiden. Aber alle wir leiden später. Tatsächlich sehen einige reiche Länder bereits die Auswirkungen der Klimaänderung und beschäftigen seine Konsequenzen. Wenn wir nicht gefährliche Klimaänderung vermeiden, sind die Konsequenzen strenger und weitverbreitet.

• Dringlichkeit: Der Report argumentiert, daß Klimaänderung dringende Tätigkeit benötigt: heute leben wir mit, was wir gestern; morgen werden wir alle, die Phasen sind mit, was wir heute. Wir müssen Maßnahmen jetzt ergreifen.

• Klimaänderung - eine ernste Drohung zu unserer Fähigkeit, das MDGs zu treffen: - wir hängen von den Systemen eco- unsere Welt für Wasser, für Landwirtschaft, für unsere Industrien, unsere Lebensunterhalt und viele andere Aspekte unseres Lebens ab - Klimaänderung wirft eine ernste Drohung zu unserer Fähigkeit, die acht Jahrtausend-Entwicklung Ziele zu treffen auf, besonders da es die Armen ist, die bereits seine Auswirkungen sehen.

• Klimaänderung - eine unermeßliche Drohung rechts menschliche: Die UNO Universalerklärung der Gespräche der menschlichen Rechte der unübertragbaren Rechte von der menschlichen Familie „Freiheit, Gerechtigkeit und Frieden“. Klimaänderung ist eine unermeßliche Drohung rechts jene. Dennoch ist es auch eine Anzeige, daß wir eine einzelne, voneinander abhängige menschliche Familie sind, die ein allgemeines Haus auf Planet Masse teilt. Die UNO hat eine Schlüsselrolle in der Diskussion und die Tätigkeit, auf Klimaänderung, zum der menschlichen Rechte zu schützen.

• Mitigation und Anpassung benötigt: Mitigation bedeutet Maßnahmen ergreifend, um Gewächshausgasemissionen zu verringern, um mehr Klima zu vermeiden, ändern Sie. Es ist über das Umwandeln der Weise, der Länder Energie und ändernde Industrie und Tätigkeiten, um Emissionen zu verringern oder zu beseitigen produzieren und verwenden. Anpassung ist die Weise, die Leute auf die neuen oder geänderten Bedingungen im Klima reagieren, wie mehr Dürren, überschwemmung oder strengen Stürmen. Es bedeutet das Anpassen unserer gegenwärtigen und zukünftigen Lebensstile, Städte, Städte, Infrastruktur - alles! - Klimaänderung berücksichtigen. Der Generalsekretär hat es seine persönliche Priorität mit Mitgliedsstaaten arbeiten lassen, um sicherzugehen, daß die Nationen wirkungsvolle Führung im Kampf gegen Klimaänderung nehmen.

Fast jede Regierung setzt jetzt Klimaänderung Höhe herauf ihre nationale Tagesordnung. Wir wissen, daß es - wichtig ist und verhängnisvolle Konsequenzen in vielen Regionen dieses Planeten wirklich haben könnte. Jedoch bis jetzt hat unser Verhalten sehr wenig geändert: wir fahren unsere Autos so viel wenn nicht mehr; wir dauern mehr Feiertage in den further-away Plätzen als überhaupt. Und unsere Schulen sind noch wahrscheinlicher, uns über alte Geschichte als die Nahzukunft zu unterrichten, als die Auswirkung der Klimaänderung irreversibel unsere Leben beeinflußt.

Die Schlüsselanzeigen dieses HDR stellen das beste Denken der Welt an die Auswirkung der Klimaänderung Krise auf Leute dar und was alle wir über es tun sollten. Take photographs - or create paintings, cartoons (we love cartoons!) - write poems from the bottom of your heart! - again, express as powerfully as you are able, the need to take action to address climate change now - as it is the current young generation, and their children, who will suffer most from the consequences.

- What young people are doing: we need inspirational stories of what young people are doing in your area to combat climate change. We know that a ton of stuff is happening in most countries of the world - and we want to be sure we have the most up-to-date, most incredible, most powerful stories about the impact that the effort and imagination of young people is making on this critical world issue. But, of course, it is not enough!

- What more can young people do? This climate change challenge is the big one in our lives. Our actions to date have barely made a dent in the problem. So get your thinking hats on - and come up with some brilliant ideas for what young people should be doing to address this - the defining challenge of your generation. We want to have a register of ideas that will spark the reader's interest and make them say, “Yes - I could do that!” Young people can do amazing things: we know that - and we want your ideas for ending the threat of climate change to shape our leaders' thinking about it right now.

- IILLUSTRATED BACK COVER - Remember the title of the Report - “Fighting climate change: Human Solidarity in a divided world” - We want a full-page illustration for the back cover that in some way suggests this divided world - how the rich are, in the short-term, able to buy their escape from the climate change crisis - but how that option is not available to the poor. Think of a slogan that will capture young people's imaginations - and define the youth role in lifting the threat of catastrophic climate change from our world for ever. We shall publish the best of them in our updates. And the editors will decide. But slogans are great - and quick to write. So give us some! - and then do a master-piece painting to illustrate it.

Este ano, o UNDP pediu que nós vão mais mais e convidem povos novos criar 30 a 90 segundos videos
em como a mudança do clima o afeta e o que você sente deve ser feito sobre ele. Há três maneiras que você pode contribuir:

1) Se você tiver uma câmera e o equipamento de edição necessário, você pode ir adiante e fazer seu vídeo. Podem ser partes curtas, dramáticas, scripted e agiram para fora por você e por seus amigos; ou um corte documentary junto para fazer uma indicação impactive sobre o que você sente para ser um aspecto chave da mudança do clima. Ou uma mistura dos dois. Os videos terminados devem uploaded ao nosso Grupo de YouTube

Que são as mensagens chaves estes HDR entregam sobre a mudança do clima?

• Mudança do clima - seu efeito em povos: Nós tivemos o relatório dos cientistas dos UN do painel Intergovernmental na mudança do clima (IPCC); nós tivemos o relatório em seu impacto econômico no relatório Stern. Este relatório humano do desenvolvimento é sobre povos e como nós todos somos afetados pela mudança do clima.

• Os pobres sofrem mais da mudança do clima - e sofrerão mais: Dado que 2.6 bilhões vivos na pobreza, incapaz de se encontrar com suas necessidades básicas, estes povos são prováveis ser os primeiros para enfrentar os impactos da mudança perigosa do clima e para sofrer reversões humanas do desenvolvimento. - O impacto da mudança do clima em povos: - porque é que os pobres contribuíram menos, contudo são já esses que sofrem mais - e sofrerá mais - da mudança do clima: esta é talvez a mensagem a mais importante que sai do relatório do UNDP - e nós devemos comunicá-lo poderosa e vividly. Considere o cyclone recente em Bangladesh: imagine que a dor de um residente de um console pacífico enquanto s/he se prepara para sair de seu repouso porque o sea-level está fazendo seu console desapareça abaixo das ondas. - 1) Mitigation das soluções (: é uma palavra grande - usada não muito por povos novos. Assim - explique-o a yourself e a seus amigos! Significa fazer exame da ação para reduzir emissões de gás da estufa para evitar mais mudança do clima, como grades da energia renewable do edifício - de-carbonising nossas comunidades. Outra vez, não ciência do foguete: investing em soluções elétricas - onde a eletricidade é gerada pelo vento, poder solar, hydro, estações de poder nao coal-fired; não viajando tanto - tele-commuting; fazendo exame de feriados mais próximo ao repouso; o carbono pessoal ou ar-viaja quotas; giro fora das luzes e applicances que não estão sendo usados; estas são todas as estratégias do mitigation da parte. - Soluções (2) Adaptação: Uma outra palavra grande - significa adaptar nossos lifestyles atuais e futuros, cidades, cidades, infrastructure - tudo! - para fazer exame do cliente da mudança do clima. Vad är de nyckel- meddelandena dessa HDR levererar om klimatförändring?

It will affect all of us - from the multi-billionaires to the poorest of the poor: no one is excluded. So we must all be involved. Find stories which you think illustrate, powerfully, the urgency of this crisis. Take photographs - or create paintings, cartoons (we love cartoons!) - write poems from the bottom of your heart! - again, express as powerfully as you are able, the need to take action to address climate change now - as it is the current young generation, and their children, who will suffer most from the consequences.

- What young people are doing: we need inspirational stories of what young people are doing in your area to combat climate change. We know that a ton of stuff is happening in most countries of the world - and we want to be sure we have the most up-to-date, most incredible, most powerful stories about the impact that the effort and imagination of young people is making on this critical world issue. But, of course, it is not enough!

- What more can young people do? This climate change challenge is the big one in our lives. Our actions to date have barely made a dent in the problem. So get your thinking hats on - and come up with some brilliant ideas for what young people should be doing to address this - the defining challenge of your generation. Take photographs - or create paintings, cartoons (we love cartoons!) - write poems from the bottom of your heart! - again, express as powerfully as you are able, the need to take action to address climate change now - as it is the current young generation, and their children, who will suffer most from the consequences.

- What young people are doing: we need inspirational stories of what young people are doing in your area to combat climate change. We know that a ton of stuff is happening in most countries of the world - and we want to be sure we have the most up-to-date, most incredible, most powerful stories about the impact that the effort and imagination of young people is making on this critical world issue. But, of course, it is not enough!

- What more can young people do? This climate change challenge is the big one in our lives. Our actions to date have barely made a dent in the problem. So get your thinking hats on - and come up with some brilliant ideas for what young people should be doing to address this - the defining challenge of your generation. We want to have a register of ideas that will spark the reader's interest and make them say, “Yes - I could do that!” Young people can do amazing things: we know that - and we want your ideas for ending the threat of climate change to shape our leaders' thinking about it right now.

- IILLUSTRATED BACK COVER - Remember the title of the Report - “Fighting climate change: Human Solidarity in a divided world” - We want a full-page illustration for the back cover that in some way suggests this divided world - how the rich are, in the short-term, able to buy their escape from the climate change crisis - but how that option is not available to the poor. Think of a slogan that will capture young people's imaginations - and define the youth role in lifting the threat of catastrophic climate change from our world for ever. We shall publish the best of them in our updates. And the editors will decide. But slogans are great - and quick to write. So give us some! - and then do a master-piece painting to illustrate it.

Het programma van de Ontwikkeling van de Verenigde Naties (UNDP) Het menselijke Rapport van de Ontwikkeling (HDR) is waarschijnlijk het wijdst gelezen document dat door de V.N. wordt gepubliceerd elk jaar. Maar de rapporten worden niet wijd gelezen door jonge mensen, wat is waarom de V.N. jonge mensen uitnodigen om een korte, kleurrijke samenvatting van het te maken. Het proces is het zelfde als voordien. Als u niet vorig jaar deelnam, wat doen wij is een werkgroep van individuele jonge mensen, schoolgroepen, enz. te creëren. en breng hen ertoe om aan het leven de belangrijkste berichten van HDR met adviesstukken, rapporten, gedichten en verhalen, schilderijen, beeldverhalen en foto's te brengen - zodat iedereen deze berichten kan begrijpen. 1) Als u een camera en het noodzakelijke het uitgeven materiaal hebt, kunt u doorgaan en uw video maken. 2) Als u een camera hebt, maar geen het uitgeven materiaal, u kan ons een band, samen met een manuscript van verzenden hoe u het zou willen worden uitgegeven, en wij zullen het hier uitgeven - ALS wij het materiaal voelen en het idee van voldoende kwaliteit is.

3) Als u geen camera maar een groot idee hebt, schrijf een manuscript: wij - en UNDP zullen - allemaal herzien en zullen de beste 4-5 manuscripten selecteren, zullen productiedetails - schikken en zullen de band in gebeëindigde movie uitgeven.

U zult alle video's op de groep kunnen bekijken YouTube - en uw favorieten kiezen. De beste 15-20 voorgelegde video's zullen in één enkele minuut worden uitgegeven 30 tonen geïntroduceerd door een beroemdheidsgastheer. Wat zijn de Belangrijkste Berichten dit HDR levert over de Verandering van het Klimaat?

• De Verandering van het klimaat - zijn effect op Mensen: Wij hebben het rapport van de V.N.- wetenschappers van het Intergouvernementele Comité bij de Verandering van het Klimaat (IPCC) gehad; wij hebben het rapport over zijn economisch effect in het Strenge Rapport gehad. Dit Menselijke Rapport van de Ontwikkeling is over mensen en hoe wij allen door klimaatverandering worden beïnvloed.

• De armen lijden het meest aan de Verandering van het Klimaat - en zullen meer lijden: Gezien 2.6 miljard levend in armoede, onbekwaam om aan hun basisbehoeften te voldoen, deze mensen waarschijnlijk zullen zijn de eerste om de effecten van gevaarlijk klimaat onder ogen te zien verander en aan menselijke ontwikkelingsomkeringen lijden. Het rapport vertelt dat de armen reeds lijden, en zal, als resultaat van klimaatverandering meer lijden. Maar wij allen zullen later lijden. In feite, zien sommige rijke landen reeds de effecten van klimaatverandering en behandelen zijn gevolgen. Als wij geen gevaarlijke klimaatverandering vermijden, zullen de gevolgen strenger en wijdverspreid zijn.

• Urgentie: Het rapport debatteert dat de klimaatverandering dringende actie vergt: vandaag leven wij met wat wij gisteren; morgen zullen wij allen leven met wat wij vandaag. Wij moeten actie nu voeren.

• De verandering van het klimaat - een ernstige bedreiging voor onze capaciteit om MDGs te ontmoeten: - wij hangen van eco-systemen van onze wereld af voor water, voor landbouw, voor onze industrieën, ons levensonderhoud en veel andere aspecten van ons leven - de klimaatverandering vormt een ernstige bedreiging voor onze capaciteit om de Doelstellingen van de Ontwikkeling van acht Millennia te ontmoeten vooral aangezien het de armen is die reeds zijn effecten zien.

• De verandering van het klimaat - een immense bedreiging voor Rechten van de mens: De universele Verklaring van de V.N. van Rechten van de mens spreekt van de onvervreemdbare rechten van de menselijke familie aan „vrijheid, rechtvaardigheid en vrede“. De verandering van het klimaat is een immense bedreiging voor die rechten. Maar toch is het ook een herinnering dat wij een enige zijn, onderling afhankelijke menselijke familie die een gemeenschappelijk huis op de Aarde van de Planeet deelt. De V.N. hebben een belangrijke rol in de bespreking, en de werking, bij de klimaatverandering om rechten van de mens te beschermen.

• Zowel Matiging als nodig Aanpassing: De middelen van de matiging het voeren van actie om broeikasgasemissies te verminderen om meer klimaatverandering te vermijden. Het is over het omzetten van de manier die de landen en energie en de veranderende industrie en activiteiten veroorzaken gebruiken om emissies te verminderen of te elimineren. De aanpassing is de manier de mensen aan nieuwe of veranderde voorwaarden in klimaat, zoals meer droogten, overstroming of strenge onweren antwoorden. Het betekent aanpassend onze huidige en toekomstige levensstijlen, steden, steden, infrastructuur - alles! - om klimaat met verandering rekening te houden. Het rapport geeft op dat zowel de acties moeten worden gevoerd om klimaatverandering als de bedreigingen te bestrijden het aan het mensdom vormt.

Maar toch tot op heden, heeft ons gedrag zeer weinig veranderd: wij drijven onze auto's zoals veel als niet meer; wij nemen meer verder weg meer vakantie in plaatsen dan ooit. En onze scholen zullen nog eerder ons over oude geschiedenis onderwijzen dan de dichtbijgelegen-toekomst wanneer het effect van klimaatverandering onherroepelijk ons leven zal beïnvloeden.

De belangrijkste berichten van dit HDR vertegenwoordigen het beste denken van de wereld over het effect van de crisis van de klimaatverandering op mensen en wat wij allen over het zouden moeten doen. Als u verkiest om van onze Werkgroep lid te worden en tot dit project bij te dragen, zullen wij u bijwerken twee keer per maand hoogtepunt van ideeën en informatie van het rapport verzenden. Wat wij willen u?

Als u verhalen wilt bijdragen, veranderen de schilderijen, de gedichten en de rapporten over klimaat, ondertekenen omhoog nu voor de Werkgroep bij: publications@peacechild.org. Wij zullen u wachtwoord beperkte toegang tot het redactieproces geven. De bijdragen kunnen in om het even welke taal van de V.N. worden geleverd - het Engels, het Frans, het Spaans, Rus, Arabisch en Chinees. Hoe precies zouden wij moeten bijdragen?

GEÏLLUSTREERDE VOORZIJDE DEKKING Dit is een uitdaging voor een groot jonge kunstenaar of een illustrator: wij zoeken een werkelijk opvallend beeld dat op de hierboven geschetste kwesties wijst; sta uw verbeelding toe om wildernis in werking te stellen en een beeld tot stand te brengen dat onze volledige globale familie zal maken begrijpen waarom de jonge mensen over klimaatverandering bezorgd zijn. De persoon van wie het schilderen/het beeldverhaal voor het schutblad wordt gekozen wordt automatisch uitgenodigd aan de redactievergadering.

- Wat is Menselijke Ontwikkeling? - Een inleiding aan Menselijke Ontwikkeling en de geschiedenis van deze briljante V.N.- rapporten.

- Wat is de Verandering van het Klimaat? - de achtergrond, de geschiedenis, en waarom het zo belangrijk is. Dit is een grote kans voor het creatieve schrijven en beelden: als u lijdt de gevolgen van klimaatverandering - denk aan creatieve manieren om uw situatie mee te delen: u weet het - uit de eerste hand - waarom de klimaatverandering zulk een belangrijke kwestie is: gil uw zorg door een verhaal, of het schilderen, of een krachtige foto! - De Matiging van oplossingen (1): het is een groot woord - niet dat veel door jonge mensen wordt gebruikt. Zo - verklaar het aan zich en aan uw vrienden! Het betekent voerend actie om broeikasgasemissies te verminderen om meer klimaatverandering te vermijden, zoals de bouw van vernieuwbare energienetten die - onze gemeenschappen ontkolen. Opnieuw, niet raketwetenschap: het investeren in elektrische oplossingen - waar de elektriciteit door wind wordt geproduceerd, zonne, hydromacht, niet met kolen gestookte krachtcentrales; zo veel reizend niet die - tele-werkt; meer dichtbij nemend vakantie aan huis; persoonlijke koolstof of lucht-reis quota's; uitdoend de lichten en applicances die niet worden gebruikt; dit zijn alle strategieën van de deelmatiging. Onderzoek de kwesties: verklaar wat u uw overheid de - en V.N. - wilt nu doen (verlichten) de gevolgen van klimaatverandering verminderen!

- Oplossingen (2) Aanpassing: Een ander groot woord - het betekent aanpassend onze huidige en toekomstige levensstijlen, steden, steden, infrastructuur - alles! - om klimaat met verandering rekening te houden. Indien deze pagina's zullen de rol bekijken de V.N. - en - kunnen spelen: HDR heeft overvloed van ideeën, en de V.N.-Insiders hebben hun gedachten. Maar zij willen van u: welke ideeën adviseert u om door een internationale worden ondernomen instelling en veranderen zijn lidstaten om de problemen met betrekking tot klimaat op te lossen? Verklaar hen aan ons, en vertel ons waarom u denkt het de belangrijkste actie is wij zouden moeten voeren.

- Een wereld voorbij de Verandering van het Klimaat: van wat deze blik? zal houden? Geef ons niet de vertrouwde hoogte - technologie, ruimte-leeftijdsvisie van steden van het gleaming van glas en roestvrij staal. Give us new visions of a future with more green space - more trees, more energy-efficient houses, cleaner, fuel-efficient transportation! Use your imagination here: think forward to when you are an older, retired person: what kind of world do you think you will look out on to? We are looking for several visions here: some will be depressing - some more positive. Just no clichés please.

- Take action NOW!!! - If you don't know already, find out why climate change is such a priority to take action upon right now. It will affect all of us - from the multi-billionaires to the poorest of the poor: no one is excluded. So we must all be involved. Find stories which you think illustrate, powerfully, the urgency of this crisis. Take photographs - or create paintings, cartoons (we love cartoons!) - write poems from the bottom of your heart! - again, express as powerfully as you are able, the need to take action to address climate change now - as it is the current young generation, and their children, who will suffer most from the consequences.

- What young people are doing: we need inspirational stories of what young people are doing in your area to combat climate change. We know that a ton of stuff is happening in most countries of the world - and we want to be sure we have the most up-to-date, most incredible, most powerful stories about the impact that the effort and imagination of young people is making on this critical world issue. But, of course, it is not enough!

- What more can young people do? This climate change challenge is the big one in our lives. Our actions to date have barely made a dent in the problem. So get your thinking hats on - and come up with some brilliant ideas for what young people should be doing to address this - the defining challenge of your generation. We want to have a register of ideas that will spark the reader's interest and make them say, “Yes - I could do that!” Young people can do amazing things: we know that - and we want your ideas for ending the threat of climate change to shape our leaders' thinking about it right now.

- IILLUSTRATED BACK COVER - Remember the title of the Report - “Fighting climate change: Human Solidarity in a divided world” - We want a full-page illustration for the back cover that in some way suggests this divided world - how the rich are, in the short-term, able to buy their escape from the climate change crisis - but how that option is not available to the poor. Think of a slogan that will capture young people's imaginations - and define the youth role in lifting the threat of catastrophic climate change from our world for ever. We shall publish the best of them in our updates. And the editors will decide. But slogans are great - and quick to write. So give us some! - and then do a master-piece painting to illustrate it.
